Few days ago, DJ MOD sent his concerns and wishes for a speedy recovery for the former president. Touched and greatful, Ms. Kris Aquino asked him to remake this song "Yellow Ribbon" before TITA CORY passed away.

Calling upon the talents of Kix of Saia to sing the song, D-Coy and J.O.L.O. to drop a few bars and Pikaso to co-produce the track.

With a gut feeling friday night (July 31, 2009) DJ MOD felt there was a need of urgency to get the song recorded and finished. DCOY and JOLO got into the recording both at PIKASO's studio, that very same night and got the vocals to DJ MOD. Once the song was finished,in the early hours of Saturday Morning, DJ MOD got word our Nation's greatest president had passed.

Please keep TITA CORY in your prayers and enjoy the song.

This news broke out like a massive wildfire, I received tons of IMs, txt msgs, plurk post about the death of Francis "Kiko" Magalona. At first, I don't believe it.. I can't believe it unless I've seen or read in news. Thanks to one of my plurk friends who gave me this link http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/topstories/topstories/view/20090306-192678/Rapper-Francis-Magalona-passes-away which I have read right away to once and for all confirm the issue. Then when I read it, I still can't believe it or I just don't want to believe it. I have to admit that I'm not really that shock but instead I felt like is this for real? Is this real? He is a poet, patriotic, nationalist, lyricist, mentor, singer, photographer, rapper, innovator, teacher, influence, role model, father, brother and many more that one can describe him. I don't really know him personally. I know him as one of my influence. When I was still young listening to his music, I would memorize his lines and rap it. I still remember those line like "Nasa palad mo, ang kapalaran, kabataan para sa kinabukasan" from his song "Kabataan Para Sa Kinabukasan" which is one of my favorite local rap song. Cold summer nights, Three Stars and A Sun, Kaleidoscope World and so many other songs that is on my list. I still got his album, the 2-disc CD Album of Freeman 1 & 2 and his other albums. His biggest hit for me is the “Mga Kababayan” which is probably his biggest hit and most influential song that he has ever written. I think most of the rappers and aspiring rappers today has idolized and/or being influenced by him. He is probably the greatest lost of the Philippine Hiphop Scene. He has helped so many rappers and people to pursue their dreams. He has inspired and touched so many lives. Until now, I still can’t believe that he died. He never died. He just traveled. He has his place in history. He will never be forgotten. He will forever live in our hearts and minds. He is a King. Long Live the King!

MANILA, Philippines—(UPDATE 2) Rapper-TV host Francis Magalona died of leukemia Friday at the Medical City in Mandaluyong, his co-hosts at the GMA Network’s noontime show “Eat Bulaga” said. He was 44.

Magalona succumbed to severe sepsis as a complication of leukemia and passed away at 12 noon, said Philippine Daily Inquirer sources who were not authorized to talk to media.

Magalona had been undergoing several chemotherapy sessions since he was diagnosed with the disease in August last year but was too weak to fight the infection, sources said.

Magalona is the son of popular 1950s movie tandem Pancho Magalona and Tita Duran.

“I don't want a media circus. I want privacy with my family,” Francis said in a phone interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, after reports of his illness broke out.

“What I'd rather talk about is how to we can solicit blood donations to replace the supply that I have consumed in the hospital,” said Magalona, the father of eight children.

Francis' wife, Pia Arroyo-Magalona, said her husband started exhibiting symptoms in March this year. “It was very gradual, hindi siya biglaang lumabas [it didn't manifest right away].”

Mga Maling Paniniwala tungkol sa GANG

Pro-protektahan ako ng aking GANG, at ako ay ligtas.

Mali ito, kung akala mo magiging protektado ka sa mga siga ng eskwelahan at mga kalaban na gang ay nagkakamali ka. Bilang kasapi ng isang GANG ay tataas ang posibilidad na ikaw ay maging target ng kalabang Gang. Mas malaki din ang posibilidad na ikaw ay masaktan o mamatay. Maraming gustong magbago na miyembro ng Gang, ngunit nahirapan sila magbago. Marami din na KICK OUT o huminto sa pag-aaral dahil sa GANG. Ang labanan ng GANG ay walang kasiguraduhan sa loob at labas ng eskwela o sa mga daanan o sa kalye, di sigurado na ligtas ang bawat kanto at kahit umalis ka na sa GANG ay maaalala ka pa rin ng kalabang grupo at maari kang saktan o patayin.

Rerespetuhin ako ng ibang tao pag ako ay nasa GANG

Mali ito, ang repeto sa GANG ay takot. Pagpasok mo pa lang sa gang ay uutusan ka na gumawa ng masama para makakuha ka ng reputasyon o takot para sa iyo, walang respeto sa ganun. Ang respeto ay makukuha lamang sa tamang paggamit ng pinag-aralan at mga napatunayang tagumpay sa buhay. Madaling mawala ang “respeto” sa GANG, kung hindi niya naipagtanggol ang sarili sa mga tao na bumastos sa kanya. Ang ganung uri ng respeto ay napakababaw.

Magkakaroon ako ng maraming kaibigan pag sumali ako sa GANG

Tama, magkakaroon ka ng mga kaibigan, ngunit magkakaroon ka rin ng maraming kaaway. May mga dating kaibigan na hihiwalay sa iyo dahil ikaw ay kasapi sa GANG. Magiging pili na lamang ang iyong mga kaibigan. Ang kaibigan ay isang tao na hindi ka pababayaang mapasama at iintindi sa iyo. Sa GANG, uutusan ka sa ngalan ng loyalty na maari kang mapahamak, hindi ito tunay na kapatiran.

Ang GANG ay parang pamilya lamang

Mali ito, walang pamilya ang magtuturo sa iyo gumawa ng masama o ipahamak ang iyong buhay para makaramdam ng pagmamahal. Ang tunay na pamilya ay tatanggapin ka kahit sino ka man. Kung may problema ang iyong pamilya, hindi sulusyon ang pagiging isang myembro ng GANG. Malaki ang tyansa na ikaw ay mapahamak at ang iyong pamilya ay makakaramdam ng hinanakit dahil sa iyo. Hindi ka rin magiging magandang halimbawa sa iyong mga nakababatang kapatid o kapamilya. Hindi mo makikita ang pagmamahal ng pamilya sa GANG. Hindi lamang ikaw ang napapahamak o pwedeng saktan sa GANG, kasama na rin ang mga mahal mo sa buhay.

Magkakaroon ako ng maraming pera sa GANG

Karamihan ng kumita sa GANG dahil sa mga di tamang paraan ay panandaliang yaman. Ang tunay na paraan para yumaman ay magkaroon ang edukasyon at tamang diskarte sa buhay.

Hindi ako pwedeng kumalas sa aking GANG

Mali ito. Araw-araw sa buong mundo, marami ang umaalis sa kini-kanilang GANG. Maling paniniwala na ang tanging paraan para kumawala sa gang ay kamatayan. Marami ang dating GANG members na namumuhay ng normal ngayon. Minsan ay kailangang lumipat ng lugar para makapagsimula muli. Madaling pasukun ang GANG, pero mahirap lumabas dito.

Ang pag-iwas sa mga GANG ay ang pinaka-epektibong paraan sa lahat.

hip-hop is all about love, sharing and culture of peace... there is no place for violence as the founding fathers of hip-hop used this culture to avoid bloodshed.
